Yvonne Mapika-Manwa’s career in football administration began with her appointment as the CEO of Ngezi Platinum Stars in May 2022, shortly after the departure of Nyasha Kadenge from the position. The specific reasons for Kadenge’s exit were not made public.

Before her tenure at Ngezi Platinum Stars, Mapika-Manwa held various significant roles across multiple sectors. Her roles included general manager, finance administration manager, and operations manager in both the manufacturing and service industries.

In a notable career progression, the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) appointed her as the Chief Executive Officer in November 2023, with her term beginning on November 1, 2023. This appointment marked her as the second female CEO in the history of ZIFA, following Henrietta Rushwaya.
