This is the biography of William Manondo a Zimbabwean footballer who currently plays as a forward for CAPS United in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League and the Zimbabwe national team.


William Manondo was born on April 2, 1991.

Club Career

William Manondo, a talented footballer hailing from Zimbabwe, commenced his professional journey in the vibrant fields of the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League with FC Platinum. However, his journey to success wasn’t without its twists. Initially, he faced challenges, finding himself loaned to Gunners due to early sidelining by coach Rahman Gumbo in the 2012 season. Despite these hurdles, Manondo’s skills shone through, leading to his recall to FC Platinum later that year. His versatility on the field saw him transition to Harare City Football Club in 2013, where he showcased his prowess as an attacking midfielder.

In 2017, Manondo achieved a significant milestone, clinching the Chibuku Super Cup with Harare City, earning him the endearing moniker “Mr. Chibuku.” Following the expiration of his contract with Harare City, Manondo embarked on a new chapter, joining CAPS United in January 2022. Notably, he holds the esteemed title of the Chibuku Super Cup tournament’s all-time leading goal scorer, a testament to his remarkable abilities.

International Career

Manondo’s talents extended beyond the domestic realm, earning him a spot in the Zimbabwe national team in 2016. He made his debut in a spirited match against Mali during the 2016 African Nations Championship, marking the beginning of his international journey. Despite facing initial setbacks, Manondo displayed resilience, showcasing his skills in subsequent fixtures, including a memorable performance against Uganda where he netted his maiden international goal.

In 2022, he clinched the Premiership’s coveted Golden Boot, an accolade earned through his remarkable tally of 17 goals. Adding to his accolades, he was bestowed with the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League Player of the Month award in March 2022, further solidifying his status as a formidable force in the realm of football.
