This is the biography of Zimbabwean international footballer Tinotenda Kadewere, who plays for Nantes in France’s Ligue 1.

Early Life and Background

Philana Tinotenda “Tino” Kadewere was born on January 5, 1996, in Highfield, Harare, Zimbabwe. Coming from a football-oriented family, his father, Onias Kadewere, a former footballer, greatly influenced his passion for the game. Tino’s love for football was apparent early on, and he began honing his skills in local youth leagues, where his talent and commitment stood out.

Tinotenda Kadewere Club Career

Kadewere attended Prince Edward School in Harare, where he further developed his football abilities. Playing for the school’s team, he quickly emerged as a standout player. His stellar performances attracted the attention of Harare City, a club in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League.

In 2014, Kadewere joined Harare City, marking the start of his professional journey. He made an instant impact by scoring seven goals in the first half of his debut season. His goal-scoring ability and versatility as both a forward and winger made him an invaluable asset to the team.

Tinotenda Kadewere European Career

Kadewere’s talent was quickly recognized, leading to trials with Swedish first-division club Djurgårdens IF and French Ligue 2 side Sochaux in the summer of 2015. He opted to join Djurgårdens IF on loan for the rest of the season, with an option for a permanent move. Kadewere made his Allsvenskan debut on August 29, 2015, and was later signed permanently. He scored his first league goal on July 25, 2016. A remarkable highlight was his four-goal performance against IK Sirius on May 27, 2018, making him the first Djurgården player to achieve this since 1978.

In July 2018, Kadewere signed a four-year deal with French Ligue 2 side Le Havre for a reported fee of US$2.5 million. He continued to shine at Le Havre, becoming one of the league’s top scorers, which drew interest from higher-tier clubs.

On January 22, 2020, Kadewere moved to Ligue 1 club Olympique Lyonnais but stayed on loan at Le Havre for the remainder of the 2019-20 season. He joined Lyon for the 2020-21 season, making an immediate impact by scoring twice in a 2-1 victory over Saint-Étienne on November 8, 2020. In August 2022, he was loaned to Spanish club Mallorca with an option to buy, gaining valuable experience in La Liga. In January 2024, Kadewere joined Nantes on loan, with an option to buy.
