Age and Early Life

Tinashe Mutarisi is a Zimbabwean serial businessman and the founder and Chairman of Nash Paints, a prominent paint manufacturing and selling company in Zimbabwe, operating under NASH Holdings. While his exact age remains undisclosed, he was born on April 22nd. Tinashe faced challenges in his childhood, losing his parents at a young age. His siblings provided crucial support, even making bricks to help him complete his secondary education. Tinashe Mutarisi grew up in Inyati Mine and attended Inyati Mine Primary School before moving on to Mavhudzi Secondary School for his high school education.

Tinashe Mutarisi pursued his primary education at Inyati Mine Primary School and later attended Mavhudzi Secondary School for high school. After completing high school, he furthered his education at Chinhoyi University of Technology, earning a degree. Additionally, Tinashe Mutarisi holds an MBA from Marjon University in the UK.

Business Career

After finishing school, Tinashe Mutarisi worked at a retail shop in Chivhu before venturing to Botswana, where he identified opportunities in the local paint industry. In 2006, he founded Nash Paints with three employees at Chikwanha Shopping Centre in Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe.

Over time, Nash Paints experienced significant growth, expanding to 36 branches across Zimbabwe and employing over 500 individuals. Tinashe’s entrepreneurial pursuits also led him to establish NASH Holdings, a conglomerate that includes various companies such as Eastlea Paints, Nashrin Cargo Carriers, Avion, Spec Paints, Fishmongers Penman, Furnitures’ Coloursel, Nash Furnitures, and Project56 Construction. His business operations extend beyond Zimbabwe to Zambia, South Africa, and Botswana.

Recognition and Achievements

In 2017, Tinashe Mutarisi was recognized as the second most influential entrepreneur under the age of 40 in Zimbabwe by Ngoda Business. The judging criteria included factors such as national relevance, global appeal, social impact, motivation/leadership, economic value, general influence, and brand equity. Additionally, in 2020, Tinashe entered the music industry through Nashtvzimbabwe.

Wife and Children

Tinashe Mutarisi is happily married to his wife, Kudzai, and they have six children together. In addition to their own children, the couple takes care of Tinashe’s nieces and nephews.

Philanthropy

Tinashe Mutarisi’s philanthropic efforts are primarily channeled through his company, Nash Paints. He has been supportive of the arts and entertainment industry, extending his support to Bustop TV, Jah Prayzah’s Military Touch Movement, and events such as the Alfred Kainga comedy show. Additionally, he carries out significant philanthropic work through his House of Hope foundation and The Tinashe Mutarisi Trust.
