This is the biography of Obriel Chirinda a Zimbabwean professional footballer who primarily plays as a forward. He currently plays for Ngezi Platinum Stars Football Club and represents the Zimbabwe national football team.

Educational Journey

His football odyssey began during his schooling days at Mahlathini in Cowdray Park, where he showcased his talents for a local team. Later, he honed his skills at Highlanders’ Under-13s alongside notable players like Godfrey Makaruse, Itai Mabhunu, and Wandile Ndlovu. Under the mentorship of Field “Stokee” Mlambo at EM Sport Academy, Chirinda progressed from the grassroots to Division Three, transitioning from goalkeeper to a formidable field player.

Club Path

Heading into the 2024 season, Obriel Chirinda embarked on a new chapter by joining Ngezi Platinum Stars, departing from his previous club, Bulawayo Chiefs. The transfer buzzed with a reported value ranging from US$20,000 to US$25,000.

Rumours swirled around Chirinda’s career trajectory, with talks of contracts with both Dynamos and Ngezi Platinum Stars. Despite an alleged agreement with Dynamos, Chirinda found his allegiance with Ngezi Platinum Stars, triggering a dispute between Dynamos and Bulawayo Chiefs.

Prior to his stint with Ngezi Platinum Stars, Chirinda showcased his prowess with Chicken Inn in the top-flight league.

Accolades and Achievements

Chirinda’s remarkable performance during the 2023 season with Bulawayo Chiefs propelled him into the limelight, netting an impressive tally of 12 goals. Furthermore, he clinched the title of the Footballers Union of Zimbabwe’s Player of the Month for September and secured a spot as a finalist for the esteemed Soccer Star of the Year award.
