Obert Chari, the renowned Zimbabwean musician and frontman of ZCC Hakireni Stars, hails from Negovano, Bikita. Chari’s musical odyssey began within the choirs of ZCC Mbungo. In 2012, he initiated his solo career, unveiling his debut album, “Ngoma Yababa.” Despite initial albums not resonating widely, Chari persisted in his musical pursuits. The breakthrough arrived in 2017 with the release of “Mebo,” a song that propelled him into the national spotlight, thanks in part to the viral music video released in 2018.
