On December 28, 2023, Obadiah Musindo announced his engagement to a 22-year-old girlfriend, sparking discussions on social media. The age gap of 20 years between Musindo and his partner became a topic of controversy. Musindo, however, dismissed the claims, labeling them as false.
In 2004, Musindo faced serious allegations of raping his maid on five occasions. The legal proceedings were delayed for two years, prompting women’s organizations to pressure law enforcement for action. Despite an order from the Attorney General, the police hesitated to arrest Musindo, even removing the investigating female police officer. Musindo, vehemently denying the charges, argued that political opponents fabricated the rape allegation due to his support for President Robert Mugabe and Zanu-PF.
The legal battle included unsuccessful attempts by Musindo to halt the trial in the High Court and Supreme Court appeals against adverse rulings. Despite these legal maneuvers, the trial proceeded.
Losing Company Shares
Musindo found himself embroiled in a dispute over his shares in Boltspeed Security Services, a company co-founded in 2018 with Wilson Masokovere. Allegedly, Masokovere fraudulently swindled Musindo of his shares by forging signatures and replacing him as a director. Musindo, filing a complaint with the police’s anti-corruption unit, uncovered the tampering of company documents in October 2021.
