Ngonidzashe Kambarami, widely known as Ngonie, was born on October 19, 1983, in Mabvuku, Harare. He is the youngest of four boys in his family.
Education
Ngonie’s educational journey took place at Donnybrook Primary School and Mabvuku High School, both located in Mabvuku, Zimbabwe. Additionally, he attended Foundation College in Old Tafara, Harare.
Music Career
Ngonie’s music career was launched in 2002 with his debut song “Ndiwe Chete,” which eventually led to the release of his first album. His music is a unique blend of genres, including ragga, Afro-jazz, rhythm and blues, jazz, and soul.
Throughout his career, Ngonie has worked with various producers and labels. Notable albums like “Ndinoimba” were produced by Tatenda “Take 5” Jenami and Sipho “TBA” Mkhuhlane of That Squad. “Angu Mashoko” was produced by Wofman (Pedyo Newe) and Gordon Mutekedzi, TBA, and Lyton Ngolomi for Highway Entertainment, Ngonie’s personal label. “Idenderedzwa” saw collaboration with producers Joseph “Joey” Madziyire, Sipho “Playboy” Mkuhlane, Lyton Ngolomi, Clive “Mono” Mukundu, and McDonald “McDee” Chidavaenzi for Highway Entertainment.

In 2004, Ngonie received the prestigious Best Urban Grooves Male award at the Zimbabwe Music Awards (ZIMA) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the music industry. His talent was further highlighted by his captivating a cappella rendition of “Donna” during the Spotlight 2002 show, alongside Another Trybe.
