Jordan Bhekithemba Zemura, the skilled left-back for Serie A club Udinese, was born on 14 November 1999 in Lambeth, London, to Zimbabwean parents. His father hailed from Murehwa, and his mother from Wedza. Zemura attended the Oasis Academy Isle of Sheppey for secondary school and pursued Sports Science at Canterbury University.

Club Career

Zemura’s football journey commenced at Queens Park Rangers’ academy at six, followed by a brief trial with Chelsea. He later spent eight formative years in the youth setup of Charlton Athletic, marking the foundation of his football prowess.

Bournemouth signed Zemura after a successful trial in 2019. His debut in an EFL Cup tie against Crystal Palace showcased his penalty-scoring skills in a dramatic 11–10 shootout victory. Zemura’s impactful start to the 2021–22 season earned him Bournemouth’s Player of the Month award for August. His first professional goals came on 11 September 2021, with a brace in a 3–0 win over Barnsley.

Udinese

On 12 April 2023, Udinese officially announced Zemura’s signing on a free transfer for the 2023–24 season, securing a four-year deal. He made an impressive debut on 21 August 2023, playing the full 90 minutes in a 2–1 victory over Sampdoria.

Despite being born in London, Zemura represents Zimbabwe internationally, holding Zimbabwean citizenship. His debut for the Zimbabwe national team was in a 3–1 loss to Algeria on 13 November 2020 during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification. Zemura was also part of the squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Personal Life

Zemura, a private individual, keeps his focus on football. His brother, Tafadzwa, shares his passion for the sport. A devoted Christian, Zemura often shares Bible verses on his social media accounts. Fluent in both English and Shona, the native language of his parents, he continues to make waves in the football world.
