Early Life and Education

Jessie Fungai Majome, born on December 20, 1971, in Salisbury, Rhodesia (now Harare, Zimbabwe), embarked on a journey of educational excellence. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws Honours (LL.B.) from the University of Zimbabwe in 1995, followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Women’s Law in 1996. Her academic pursuits continued with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of South Africa in 2004 and a Masters in Women’s Law (M.S.W.L.) from the University of Zimbabwe in 2008.

Political Career

Jessie Majome’s foray into politics began with her election as a Member of the National Assembly of Zimbabwe for Harare West in 2008, a position she retained through re-election in 2013. Her contributions were instrumental as the Chairperson of the Parliament of Zimbabwe’s Portfolio Committee on Justice, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs. Furthermore, she played pivotal roles within the Parliamentary Legal Committee and the Portfolio Committee on Local Government Rural and Urban Development.
