This is the biography of Jairos Tapera, a Zimbabwean football coach, currently coaching Manica Diamonds Football Club in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League. In May 2024, he was appointed interim head coach of the Zimbabwe national team.

Club Coaching Odyssey

The TelOne Triumph

The saga continued in March 2019 when Tapera was entrusted with steering the ship at TelOne Football Club, taking over from Joel Lupahla, who transitioned into the role of the club’s technical manager. However, Tapera’s tenure was cut short midway through the 2019 season.

Leading Black Rhinos

Amidst the anticipation of the 2020 Castle Lager Premiership football season, Jairos Tapera was appointed as the helmsman of Black Rhinos Football Club in January 2020.

Expanding Horizons

Tapera’s coaching journey extends beyond the aforementioned clubs, encompassing stints at Shabanie Mine, FC Platinum, and Yadah FC, where his tenure ended acrimoniously in July 2017.

Triumphant Triangle United

In a strategic move in January 2022, Jairos Tapera embarked on a new chapter as the head coach of Triangle United Football Club, transitioning from his role as technical advisor at Black Rhinos.

National Team Leadership

Jairos Tapera’s influence extends to the international stage. In May 2024, he assumed the mantle of interim coach for Zimbabwe’s senior national men’s team, a testament to his prowess and tactical acumen.

Under his guidance, the team contested pivotal World Cup qualifying matches against Lesotho and South Africa, showcasing Tapera’s adeptness in steering the national squad towards success.

Tapera’s prior experience includes steering the Zimbabwe Under-20 team through the crucible of qualifiers for the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, demonstrating his commitment to nurturing talent at all levels.
