In August 2020, Jah Master’s song “Hello Mwari” was featured in NashTV’s Nash Nation Riddim 3 competition, where artists had the chance to compete for a prize of US $3,000. The song quickly gained popularity, amassing an impressive 1 million views on YouTube within just two weeks.
The song “Hello Mwari” sparked a viral trend known as the “Hello Mwari Challenge” on social media, with people sharing videos of themselves lip-syncing to the song. Even popular Zimbabwean musician Jah Prayzah joined in the trend, posting a video of himself singing the song.
