VILLAGERS came out in numbers on Sunday morning at Nthabiseng village near Soekmekaar in Limpopo when they heard a young woman shouting for help to rescue a new born baby that was dumped in a pit toilet.
They didn’t believe it, in fact they were shocked when they realised that it’s a new born baby with blood all over it.
The child was admitted at Botlokwa Hospital and is reported to be doing well.
Tebogo Nukeri a tenant (20) told Daily Sun that “It was drizzling on Saturday afternoon when I heard some funny noise coming from the pit toilet, I thought it was a cat but then the next morning I learnt that it’s a sound of a crying baby. I immediately called my neighbors for help.” She said.
Kabelo Mailula (20) also a tenant said “I was shocked to see a newborn baby covered in blood and human waste all over her body. Some people are heartless, how can you carry a child for 9 months and dump her like this?” He asked.
Soekmekaar police spokesman Warrant Ncha Mankga confirmed that a 44 year old woman was arrested on Sunday afternoon regarding the matter and is also admitted at Botlokwa Hospital for her poor health conditions after giving birth.
