This is the biography of Frank Makarati a Zimbabwean professional football player who plays as a defender for Dynamos Football Club in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League.

Background and Education

Frank Mukarati hails from Gutu, Masvingo Province, Zimbabwe. He grew up as the third child in a family of five siblings. Mukarati attended Mutasa Primary School for his elementary education and later enrolled at Highfield High 2 School.

Age

Frank Mukarati was born on March 14, 1994.

Wife and Children

Frank Mukarati is married to Paidamoyo Matanhire. The couple is blessed with two sons named Kayden and Kendrick. Kendrick was born in September, around the time Mukarati earned his national team call-up.

Club Career

Mukarati’s football journey commenced during his schooling years at Mutasa Primary School, and he continued to pursue his passion at Highfield High 2. He ventured into professional football in 2014 with Buffaloes. Subsequently, he played for Border Strikers and later joined Manzini Wanderers, a renowned club in Eswatini.

Returning to Zimbabwe in 2017, Mukarati joined How Mine before making a move to Ngezi Platinum Stars in early 2018. His time at Ngezi Platinum Stars saw him thrive, earning the club’s Player of the Year award in 2019. Despite facing disciplinary issues with yellow cards, Mukarati was hailed as the team’s standout player, contributing significantly to their Chibuku Super Cup final appearance and top-four league finish.

In 2023, Makarati assumed the captaincy at Dynamos, leading them to victory in the Chibuku Super Cup, marking a significant achievement for the team.

International Career

While not making the final 23-man squad, Makarati’s talent was acknowledged when he was named in the CHAN provisional squad by former Warriors coach Zdravko Logarusic. Additionally, he represented Zimbabwe in a friendly match against Botswana in 2023.

Awards

Mukarati’s prowess on the field earned him recognition as one of the top 11 players of the 2021-2022 season. He also secured the second runner-up position in the Soccer Star of the Year award, with Walter Musona and William Manondo clinching the first and second places, respectively.
