Elder Machando Biography: Zimbabwean Evangelist and Marriage Counsellor
Elder Machando is a well-known evangelist, marriage counsellor and elder in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Zimbabwe. He is popular for giving advice on youth courtship and marriage from a biblical perspective.
Early Life and Education
Elder Machando was born and raised in Chitungwiza, a town near Harare. His parents were devout Seventh Day Adventists who instilled in him the values of the church. He attended Adventist schools and later studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Zimbabwe. He graduated with honors and worked as an engineer for several years.
Ministry and Teachings
Elder Machando felt a calling to serve God and his church as an evangelist and counsellor. He started preaching at various churches and events, sharing the gospel and the Adventist doctrines. He also developed a passion for helping young people to find godly partners and build strong marriages. He wrote several books and articles on topics such as dating, courtship, marriage, sex, family, divorce, and remarriage. He also hosted radio and television programs where he answered questions from listeners and viewers on these issues.

Elder Machando’s sermons and teachings are based on the Bible and the writings of Ellen G. White, the founder of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He emphasizes the importance of prayer, faith, obedience, purity, love, respect, communication, and commitment in relationships. He also warns against the dangers of worldly influences, such as secular music, movies, fashion, and social media. He encourages young people to seek God’s will and guidance in choosing their spouses and to follow the principles of courtship and marriage as taught by the church.
Elder Machando is widely respected and admired by many Adventists and non-Adventists alike for his wisdom and insight on matters of love and marriage. He has helped many couples to overcome their challenges and to enjoy happy and fulfilling marriages. He is married to his wife of over 30 years, who is also an Adventist elder. They have four children and several grandchildren.
