I used to be a very stingy guy, very frugal, i shamefully remember this rather embarrassing ordeal, when, i was upper six, i dumped my then girlriend a week before valentine in order to cut on costs.( In my defence it was 2008 , very bad year for everyone, so its an excuse at least)
Anways back in the day i used to wear these tiny shorts with an inside pocket, there is a “trust” fund i kept there. Now everyone in my family knew that they could always borrow from this fund. My Mother would call it the UNDERWEAR BANK!
So my frugality worried one of my elder brothers and so it was his painful duty to re orient me that its not about saving money, its about creating a system that brings money on a consistent basis.
Now I am glad i am reformed and i have even become a bit extravagant(though of course my friends don’t believe i have turned over a new leaf), but surprisingly my income has trebled ever since i closed UNDERWEAR BANK and decided to come up with a consistent bank.
This is awesome because if you overspend today you are assured that the next cheque is coming.
So its not about saving guys, its about making your income so enormous that your costs become insignificant. This is something i am striving for every single day of my life
To illustrate, Lets suppose you have become a millionaire, lets say u have a net-worth of 50 million, now assuming a life expectancy of 100 years you will be able to spend a thousand dollars a day for the rest of the 100 years without a single worry and leave a little for some relatives( 1000*365*100)
So to sum it up in the words of a very great Nerd and richest man in the world BILL GATES, money ceases to be a utility at a certain point.
