Political Career
Kudakwashe David Mnangagwa is a member of the ZANU-PF party. In 2023, he became a Member of Parliament through the youth quota system, representing Midlands Province. As a Provincial Member, he actively engages in the ZANU PF Youth League structures. In September 2023, President Emmerson Mnangagwa appointed him as the Deputy Minister of Finance and Investment Promotion. His appointment drew criticism from opposition parties, who viewed it as an act of nepotism.

Controversies
Child Custody Battle with Baby Mama
David Kudakwashe Mnangagwa was previously in a relationship with model Al-Marie Iris Hall, which led to a child custody dispute. In 2021, he was awarded full custody of the child after the High Court ruled that his baby mama, Al-Marie Iris Hall, posed a toxic environment for the minor. The judges noted that Mnangagwa had been a good father, while the mother was described as a violent and drug addict who once stayed at a rehabilitation home for three weeks. Following the custody decision, Hall occasionally expressed her grievances on social media, claiming she had been denied access to the child for years.
Poaching Allegations, 2020
In 2020, Kudakwashe Mnangagwa faced allegations of involvement in the poaching of wildlife in Nyangambe, in the Save Valley Conservancy, Chiredzi, located in the south-eastern part of Zimbabwe. These allegations were made by Farai Chauke, a lawyer from Nyangambe and the legal representative of the Nyangambe Community Wildlife Project. Chauke claimed that Mnangagwa and others engaged in illegal hunting and poaching outside hunting quotas.
