Age and Early Life
Ammara Brown is a renowned singer, actress, and brand ambassador hailing from Zimbabwe. Born on September 6, 1988, in Harare, Zimbabwe, she is the daughter of the famous Zimbabwean musician, Andy Brown, and Soraya Khan. Ammara is the second oldest among her father’s ten children and the first child from her mother and father. Her parents went through a divorce in 1994.

At the age of ten, Ammara relocated with her mother to the USA, where she spent four years. During this time, she attended Alameda High School from 2002 to 2003. Upon returning to Zimbabwe, she completed her education at Westridge High School.
Early Music Career
Having music in her blood, Ammara Brown started her journey as a performer alongside her father’s band and collaborated with various artists. She even signed with Gallo Records, the same record label her father was associated with.
In 2008, Ammara participated in the Idols East and Southern Africa competition and made it to the top 10 but was eventually eliminated, finishing in fifth place. In 2010, she had the honor of performing at the FIFA Soccer World Cup in South Africa, sharing the stage with Flabba from Skwatta Kamp. Her performances have also graced events attended by Malawian presidents, Bingu Wa Mutharika and Joyce Banda. Ammara has shared the spotlight with other prominent acts, including Mi Casa, Skwata Kamp, P-Squared, Winky D, and Tehn Diamond.
One memorable moment in 2013 was when Ammara surprised the audience during the Lion Lager Beer Festival by joining Nigerian singer D’banj on stage and delivering an impressive performance. In 2014, she released her album titled “Crucify Me,” which featured a controversial cover depicting a creature resembling a woman being crucified on a cross with the head of a crow or eagle on another cross. Despite facing criticism for allegedly mimicking the crucifixion of Jesus, Ammara clarified that the song and the cover were centered around a story of a woman cheating on a man and had no religious intent.

Over the years, Ammara Brown has proven herself as a talented musician, solidifying her name in the industry. Ammara has collaborated with renowned artists such as Nigeria’s Mr Eazi, Jah Prayzah, Tytan, ExQ, among others.

Love Life and Children
Regarding her personal life, Ammara Brown has faced speculation and rumors. She is a single mother to her son, Khameel, who is a dancer from Angola. There were rumors about a romantic involvement with fellow musician Jah Prayzah, with whom she collaborated on the song “Kure Kure.” However, Ammara firmly denied these allegations, stating that they were just friends, and she would never want to interfere in Jah Prayzah’s marriage.
