This is the biography of Alois Bunjira, a former Zimbabwean footballer who played as a midfielder from 1994 to 2009.

Early Life and Background

Born on March 29, 1975, in Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe, Alois Bunjira displayed a love for football from an early age. Growing up in Chitungwiza provided him with the foundation he needed to pursue a career in the sport.

Alois Bunjira Football Career

Alois Bunjira began his footballing journey with local teams, where his talent as a midfielder quickly became apparent. His professional career took off in 1994 with Darryn Textiles, and he later played for Blackpool. His outstanding performances soon led him to join CAPS United, one of Zimbabwe’s premier football clubs.

Bunjira’s skills earned him a spot on the Zimbabwe national team in 1994. Over eight years, he made 17 appearances for his country, netting three goals. His international career underscored his ability to excel on larger stages.

In 1999, Bunjira moved to South Africa, joining QwaQwa Stars. His career flourished at Bidvest Wits, where he scored 18 goals in 84 matches. His tenure at Mamelodi Sundowns and a subsequent return to Bidvest Wits further highlighted his capabilities as a midfielder. Despite facing challenges such as injuries, Bunjira’s persistence and skill allowed him to play at a high level until his retirement in 2009.

Post-retirement, Bunjira has made significant contributions to football by sharing his expertise with young players. He currently offers his insights on ZiFM, a local Zimbabwean radio station, where he serves as a football analyst.

Alois Bunjira Personal Life

Although much of Bunjira’s life has been publicly visible due to his football career, he has maintained a private personal life. His son, Junior Bunjira, follows in his footsteps, playing for CAPS United. Alois is also a fitness enthusiast, advocating for healthy living through his social media platforms.
